Dubai World Expo – Road to 2020

Dubai World Expo 2020, Where the World Comes Together

It is a venue designed for a sustainable future and will be bringing the Dubai Expo 2020 theme to life: Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.

The proposed Master Plan features an open plaza with three main zones symbolising the Expo Dubai 2020 bid’s three subthemes:
OPPORTUNITY:
Every five years and for a period of six months, World Expos attract millions of visitors. The country’s stability and safety, its open and dynamic economic environment, the readiness of its infrastructure and multicultural population will deliver a World Expo that will galvanise the world. Hosting the World Expo in the MENASA region for the first time, located in one of the most interesting cities, Dubai,  the event is in o on the eve of the UAE’s 50th anniversary celebrations, will carry profound meaning and create an environment rife with opportunities with Dubai Expo 2020.
Energy and water, our two most precious sources of life and prosperity, are highly interdependent. Large amounts of water are necessary to produce energy, and large amounts of energy are necessary to produce clean water. This inter-relationship has become ever more important as the world’s demand for energy and water surges and as our livelihoods depends increasingly upon them.
MOBILITY:
From the design of future cities to the development of national and regional infrastructure for travel and trade, new policies, research and innovation efforts are underway in this domain across the globe.
They will map out new ways in which transportation will shape our societies, economies and environment and influence future requirements for energy.

This is the UAE’s opportunity to use this mega event platform to truly engage the global community and drive advancements and innovative solutions in the fields of mobility, sustainability and economic development.

You may not be able to see much from the road, but behind the vast huge wooden hoardings in Jebel Ali, workers are busy preparing to build Dubai’s 2020 Expo.
